I've got the S-Video from a Ti 4200 connected to a HDTV, but picture looks real gay in 1024x768 and still kinda fuzzy in 800x600, eh?

You need to install the latest nVidia WDM drivers. See if that helps. I think www.nvidia.com have them.

Also try using a program called Tvtool. (it has a flicker filter)

isn't your TI 4200 equipped with DVI out? If so, does your HDTV unit have DVI in?
That will give you the best quality.
