Hi,
My friend was going to give me his laptop, so that i can transfer some of my music and movie files that i have on my computer to his because i have DSL and i am capable of getting the stuff compared to his dialup. What would be a way to transfer data from mine to his?? i know i can use a flash drive, but i want to know a different way?? can i use a usb wire to connect both pcs? please help thank you |

If both of you have Firewire connection, that's the best...
Otherwise, an external HDD also works well... Or CD/DVD-R(W)'s... And if you both have LAN cards, network the two! ![]() |

My ghetto, but very viable, solution is to use AIM's file/directory transfer function. I used it a few times in college, worked great. Hook both computers up on a LAN and watch the files fly. You can do it over the internet too, but your upload speed will slow things down significantly if you're moving multiple gigabytes of data.
