NO the laptop isnt under warranty anymore. THe 149 only includes a diagnostic and any labor. It doesnt include any parts. I am just hoping its not something like a mother board?
I dont know anything about computers.. I just dont want to spend too much money if its better off waiting until I can get a new laptop. In the mean time I have a desktop that I have access to.

I agree with the others. It sounds like a loose physical connection, which would mean any parts would probably cheap. The hard part is (dis)assembly and identifying the source of the problem.

Ok I just contacted HP and found out that I can some form of extended warranty purchase. I was to hard however; undertanding the rep. He sounded like he was from India.
So I am going to try again and hope I can get someone that speaks English and can understand my questions and not keep repeating the script.

I was pretty skeptical when big OEMs started the online chat support bit, but I'm fairly impressed with the service I've received that way. It's worth a shot if HP does it. Still, I doubt they'd diagnose anything that way unless we're all overlooking something obvious...

Hmmm I come accross freaky stuff every day

I have a feeling it is the Power Jack Problem, Remove Battery and fiddle with slight force in all directions, if it powers up just for a second then this is your problem. It can be expensive as most likely everything needs stripping out to get to the underside of Motherboard. Its not viable to send to me as the shipping is so slow and expensive. I Do the this repair in the UK really cheap, 2 hours labour.

Usually yes cables fail or move when in transit, twisting etc.
I have come accross so many freaky repairs. Two repairs i simply looked at and the device and it works to this day (Didn't even touch them).
One job i took the back cover off a washing machine, couldnt find any obvious fault, slipped with hand and accidently switched it on and it works (Didnt actually touch anything other than 4 screws on cover and switch!. this machine ha been working 15 years now with no trouble.

Anyway earned the nickname of TechnoMage or God of Gadjets. G

Forget it. Just throw away your 'dead laptop' and buy a new one. You can buy new dell laptops or cheap acer laptops in this good site: best laptop
