WinXP CD damaged, what can i do?

My windows XP installation cd is damaged and I can't install XP now. It looked fine before so I went ahead and started to reinstall. It stopped reading files one the CD at about 80% and I couldn't complete the install. What do I do now? I don't have to buy a completly new XP do I? Is there some way I can get an install cd or download one from microsoft? Thanks for any help..

if you registered Windows with Microsoft you can get one from Microsoft for free from what I've heard. you could also make a copy from a friend, just use your CD key since the license is what you pay for

I got a copy from a friend, hopefully it works. I'm about to test it right now. Thanks for your reply!
