broadband mucking about

Just wondering if people have any solid info on Qwest's new user policy? If I quit and then restart service am I considered a new user? What if I subscribe to Mediacom or something for a month? Maybe cancel my account and have someone else in the house start a new one in their name?

Basically Qwest offers 3-5Mbit DSL for $20/mo for a year for new users and I'd like to get in on that somehow. Especially since their service keeps making me reload pages... might as well at least make it fast while it's working. The cool part is I'll probably move to another state for grad school right around the time that deal expires... bonus!

I don't know ... but you could call them up and tell them about what you plan on doing and maybe they will just give you the offer anyway. The experience with SBC DSL has been half and half when it comes to that sort of thing. At worst, you could switch over to the other company for few months and then switch back.
