Dell 2001FP replacement?
Does anybody know if Dell is planning to launch a successor to the 2001FP any time soon?
I will be buying a 20" LCD monitor sometime in the next three months. Right now the 2001FP is my front runner, but if its replacement is going to debut soon I'd like to wait before buying. The 2005FPW is not an option - I prefer 4:3 for computer monitors, which is a big reason I'm not buying a 1280x1024 panel. |

I can't say for sure since I don't work for Dell, but I order a heck of a lot of Dell hardware here at work and based on that and all of the emails/catalogs they send me I wouldn't bet on a new line of LCDs within the next 3 months. Dell (website) does have a deal until 11pm CT tonight to get 25% off of the 2001FP... doesn't help you in 3 months though lol.

I love my 2001fp. The closest thing to a successor would be the 2405fp, but its 16:9, not 4:3.
If Dell were to update the 2001fp, I'd guess they'd call it the 2105fp, but I haven't heard of anything. |
