silly question about hard drive.....
ok, I've seen few people buying broken stuff and especially hard drives and they fix it I dunno how but dying to know lol... I have 40 gig notebook laptop is shorted he said, he was trying to use 44 to 40 converter he put the 5v plug wrong way and he said didn't make any spark or anything just didn't spin on anymore nothing just silent so I bought it for 20 buck off this guy and I didn't wanna let go to waste... the question is it possible to bring back this hard drive alive again?

If the circuit board on the drive is shorted out then it may be possible to replace that and get it working. Typically though... if a hdd dies... I play taps and toss it in the trash.

when it comes to laptops, i would just buy a new HDD since that is easy. As what Jester said
